- Make sure your child know his or her full name, home address and phone number.
- Teach your child how to use 911.
- Tell your child never to talk to strangers, approach cars or let people into their home.
- If lost in a public place, tell your child to look for police officers.
- Always use the buddy system when walking.
- Know your child’s friends and their parents.
- Know who’s working in your daycare, your yard, and who lives in your neighborhood.
- Have a code word for emergencies.
- Have your child fingerprinted.
- If in a dangerous situation, teach you child to run and yell for help.
