A five ton weight restriction has been posted on the Mauch Chunk Road Bridge over Jordan Creek in South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County.
A recent inspection of the Mauch Chunk Road Bridge showed deterioration to several of its steel beams. The Bridge is located between Presidential Drive and Girard Avenue.
The five ton weight restriction will remain in place until emergency repairs can be made. Vehicles weighing over five tons must seek an alternate route.
The Mauch Chunk Road Bridge has an average daily traffic of 16,676 vehicles.
