Lehigh County - Landis Mill Rd Bridge Replacement |

Work to replace the Landis Mill Road Bridge over Lower Saucon Creek in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County will begin August 17.
During construction Landis Mill Road will be closed and detoured between Washington Lane and Old Bethlehem Pike. The posted detour will take traffic over PA 378 and Preston Lane. Crews will demolish the existing steel through-girder bridge and construct a new concrete box-beam bridge. The project also calls for new bridge roadway approaches, line paint and drainage upgrades. The project is expected to be complete in July 2010. All schedules are weather dependent. Grace Industries, Inc of Bath, Pa. is the general contractor on the $1.8 million project. The Landis Mill Road Bridge was constructed in 1921 and is posted with an 18 ton weight restriction. The Bridge is 58 feet long, 18 feet wide and has an average daily traffic of 1,156 vehicles. The new structure will be 84 feet long, 28 feet wide and will have no weight restriction. |
