A project to improve the Interstate 80 interchange with PA 33 and PA 611 (Exit 302) will begin Wednesday (July 22).
The improvements to the interchange include widening the I-80 west off ramp, reconstructing and paving PA 611 in the immediate area of PA 33, new traffic signals, overhead sign structures, concrete islands, and pavement markings. Beginning Wednesday, motorists can expect new traffic patterns on PA 33 and 611 in the area of the I-80 Exit 302, as well as on the I-80 west off ramp. There may be occasional lane restrictions, and PennDOT will provide updates when they are scheduled to occur. The project is expected to be complete in April 2010. All schedules are weather dependent. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow for extra time when traveling through the area. Pennsy Supply, Inc. of Hummelstown, Pa. is the general contractor on the $2.7 million project. PennDOT reminds drivers to move through all work zones with caution, obey posted speed limits and to always buckle up. |
