Rose House at Longwood Gardens (2/13/08)

The Rose House at Longwood Gardens was built in the 1920s to serve as a source of fresh-cut flowers for the parties given by the DuPont family. With about 1,200 roses inside, the building faces the south so that it captures the sun's low angle during the winter months. And the temperature never dips below 60-degrees inside.
