69 News at Sunrise: Anchor’s Favorite Cookie Recipes PDF Print E-mail
It's the time of year when bakers are baking in celebration of the Christmas season.  The 69 News at Sunrise anchors shared some of their personal family favorite cookie recipes.


Jaciel's Recipe:

Lemon Cookies
1 box lemon cake mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
Grated lemon peel (if desired)

Mix ingredients with a wooden spoon.
Drop on greased cookie sheet, 2-1/2 inches apart.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.  (Cookies are done when edges are lightly brown)
Remove from cookie sheet with a spatula immediately after removing them from the oven.

You can substitute your favorite cake mix to make different flavors of this cookie.

Yields about 34 cookies.


Rick's Recipe:

Kiffle Dough
1 pound butter
1 pound cream cheese
2 egg yolks
2 teaspoons baking powder
a pinch of salt
4 cups of flour

Mix all ingredients together
Make into balls the size of a walnut
Refrigerate
After chilled overnight, roll with a rolling pin on powder sugared rolling board until they are a flat circle.
Cut with a sharp knife - 2 cross cuts to make 4 triangles.
Drop 1/2 teaspoon of lekvar, apricot, or desired filling onto each triangle.
Roll up starting at wide end.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees until light brown.
If desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar.


Rachel's Recipe:

Molasses Sugar Cookies
3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup dark molasses
1 egg
2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons soda
1/2 teaspoon powdered cloves
1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt

Pour melted or soft butter into bowl to cool.
Add sugar, molasses and egg and beat well.
Add flour, sugar, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and salt and blend thoroughly.
Chill one hour (not necessary)
Shape and roll into balls.
Bake at 375 degrees for six minutes.

Yeilds four dozen cookies.


Wendy's Recipe:

Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookies
Yield: 4 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies
2 cup(s) 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Chips
1 cup(s) butter or margarine, at room temperature
3/4 cup(s) sugar
3/4 cup(s) brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla
2 1/4 cup(s) unsifted flour
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 cup(s) walnuts, or pecans, chopped


Eve's Recipe:
 
Aunt Debbie’s Cookies
Cream:
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar

Add
2 eggs
Then mix in:
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
4 cups flour

Chill at least 2 hours
Roll and cut cookies into desired shapes
Bake at 350 for 10 min (8 minutes if cookies are small)-they should not be brown
Use confectioners' sugar recipe (recommend ½ butter and ½ Crisco) for icing
