Mark
Shanaberger
Meteorologist |
|
Mark Shanaberger can be seen
weekend mornings on the
AccuWeather
Channel and filling in on 69 News. Mark joined the WFMZ Weather
Team in June of 2006. He began his television career at WAGM, which was
Northern Maine’s CBS-affiliate at the time. While at WAGM, he primarily
worked as the Morning Meteorologist but also spent time co-anchoring and
reporting.
Mark received his meteorology degree from Penn State, where he was an
active member in the Campus Weather Service and also served as a weekly
forecaster on CNET, a local cable channel. He became a member of the
American Meteorological Society during his college years and is still a
member today.
While Mark grew-up in the Wyoming Valley, he has very close ties to
Allentown and the surrounding area. In fact, other than Mark and his
sister, everyone in his family is native to the region. He says living
in the Lehigh Valley has afforded him the opportunity to spend time with
his extended family on a daily-basis for the first time in his
life…something he is really enjoying.
Since Mark’s return to the Keystone State, he has taken part in the Big
Brothers Big Sisters program and has been an active member in the
American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
In his free-time, Mark enjoys watching and playing sports, listening to
music, reading, working out and spending time outdoors.
