Troy Hein

Troy Hein is a
native of Portola, CA. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State
University in Nacogdoches, TX in 1996. Troy's broadcasting career began
in college, as a play by play announcer for area high school basketball.
He was the Station Manager of his college radio station, and Sports
Director for the college television station.
Troy came to WFMZ from KLTV in Tyler, TX, where he was sports
reporter/anchor. Troy has been WFMZ's Sports Director and main sports
anchor since 2000, also producing and hosting the award winning football
program, The Big Ticket.
Troy has won two associated press awards for his work at WFMZ. Troy also
enjoys volunteering his with some area charity organizations. The Angel
34 Foundation started by former Northampton student-athlete Nicole
Sheriff, Bucks County's Relay for Life Organization, and the American
Heart Association, working with them in the Heart Walk in the Lehigh
Valley, and visiting schools during their Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops
for Heart Programs.
When Troy isn't working, he still enjoys playing sports, mostly
basketball and golf these days. And, he enjoys spending time with his
wife, Happi.
