Troy Hein

Troy Hein is a native of
Portola, CA. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in
Nacogdoches, TX in 1996. Troy's broadcasting career began in college, as
a play by play announcer for area high school basketball.
Troy came to WFMZ from KLTV in Tyler, TX, where he was sports
reporter/anchor. Troy has been WFMZ's Sports Director and main sports
anchor since 2000, also producing and hosting the award winning football
program, The Big Ticket. Troy has won five Associated Press awards for
his work at WFMZ and with the sports team on the Big Ticket. Troy also
volunteers his time with area charity organizations, including the Angel
34 Foundation started by former Northampton student-athlete Nicole
Sheriff, and Bucks County's Relay for Life Organization. He has enjoyed
working with the American Heart Association for the Lehigh Valley Heart
Walk, and visiting schools during the AHA's Jump Rope for Heart and
Hoops for Heart Programs.
When Troy isn't working, he enjoys playing sports, basketball and golf
mostly.
